Court Blocks Oklahoma Law that Violates Doctors’ Free Speech

oday, a state district court judge ruled from the bench and temporarily blocked an Oklahoma law forcing doctors to tell patients that medication abortion (abortion by pills) can be “reversed”—a misleading claim unsupported by scientific evidence. Under this law, physicians can be charged with a felony if this misleading information is not repeatedly relayed to the patient, including at least 72 hours before their medication abortion appointment and on mandatory signs in the clinic.

OCRJ 2019 Art Tour Series

The Oklahoma Call for Reproductive Justice is hosting five events in four cities to check out local artist interpretations of abortion rights and to talk about reproductive freedom in 2019! This series will feature a rotation of 15 works from Oklahoma visual artist’s representing their interpretations of the theme, “fighting for abortion access is an act of love.”

Protest Asylum-Seeker Detention on July 20

News recently broke that as many as 1,400 refugee children will be detained in Lawton Oklahoma over the summer. As the cruelty and violence toward immigrant and asylum seeking people escalates, it is time to act. Join hundreds of immigrant leaders and allies from across the nation on Saturday, July 20th at 10 a.m. in Lawton, Oklahoma to demand that the concentration camps be closed and that the U.S. spare no expense to reunite these children with family.
